**This is an entry written after the event.**

Tonight was Vanessa's birthday. It was a blast. Jim got here at about 6 and we went out to dinner with some people from the club. (Chili's! yum)

Afterwards we went uptown to Charlies (my favorite bar). Unfortunately Kelly was not there...oh well. V got totally trashed. It was great. Jim and I bought her a grateful dead and we sat there downing drinks. Jim was sitting across the bar with one of his friends for a while and he had the bartender come up to me and ask me "if the gentleman across the bar could buy me a drink." How cute! How could I resist?

Anyway, afterwards Jim and I took V to our place. She's an RA and I did not want her floor to give her a hard time. Granted, it was Jim's first night back and I certainly was not THAT keen on having company, but hey, what are best friends for?
